NFL: DEC 17 Falcons at Panthers

It’s been an up-and-down start to free agency for the Carolina Panthers, headlined by trading away Brian Burns and seeing Frankie Luvu sign with Washington Commanders, but they responded by signing two interior offensive linemen, adding a linebacker that has experience playing in Ejiro Evero’s scheme, followed by the addition of a pass rusher, to hopefully replace the loss of Burns.

Make no mistake about it though, Carolina butchered the Burns situation, after saying publicly for two off-seasons he was a cornerstone piece of the organization, they ultimately traded him away, and got less value back, than what Carolina gave up three years ago when they traded for Sam Darnold. No matter how you slice it, that’s a hard pill for Panther fans to swallow.

Sheena Quick covered the Brian Burns saga all season long, and earlier today she joined the Wes & Walker Show on WFNZ to detail how the Panthers ended up trading Brian Burns, she talks about the moves the team has made so far in free agency, and how Dave Canales differs from Frank Reich as a head coach.

You can listen to the Wes & Walker Show every weekday from 12-3 PM, on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ, and the WFNZ app.
