Minnesota Vikings v Carolina Panthers

It’s no secret that Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young is off to a slow start to his NFL career. The former Alabama star has yet to throw for 250 yards in a single game this season and has and 8-9 touchdown-to-turnover ratio through the first eight games of the season. He enters tomorrow night’s matchup in the Windy City off arguably his worst performance of the season, where he tossed two interceptions to the opposition that were returned for touchdowns and essentially lost the team the game.

Even with that, most experts don’t seem too concerned about him long-term, chalking it up to poor offensive line and wide receiver play. Pro Football Focus’s Trevor Sikkema is not in that category, though, as he told the Mac & Bone Show earlier this morning. “This is not the same player that was at Alabama and I don’t really know how we got here with Bryce. What he did so well at Alabama was his posie, his play under pressure, his escapability, his decision-making. The part that shocks me the most is he’s panicking. I’m almost to the point where I’m just throwing this entire year out the window because I don’t recognize this player that’s on the field.”
