Toronto Raptors v Charlotte Hornets

The Panthers might be 0-4, and Charlotte FC’s playoff hopes might be fading away, but there might be another pro team in the Queen City that can make you proud. Believe it or not, the Hornets will tip off their 2023-24 season later this month, and they have high hopes for being a playoff team after injuries made it hard for the team to compete last season.

Charlotte brought back Miles Brides on a qualifying offer contract and gave PJ Washington a four-year contract to keep the roster’s core intact. Those moves came after Charlotte drafted Brandon Miller with the second overall pick in the NBA Draft, and added Nick Smith Jr. in the first round. With veterans like Gordon Hayward, and Terry Rozier healthy, combined with the youthful talent that has seen its fair share of minutes, it is easy to see why they are internally optimistic inside the Spectrum Center, about competing in a very good Eastern Conference this season.

Around the NBA today, every team apart of the association, held their Media Day, to officially kick off the start of training camp, ahead of preseason games which begin next week, and the start of the season later this month. That meant that many members of the Hornets organization stopped by the Wes & Walker Show to talk about the upcoming season and the expectations they all share for 2023-24.
