The starting QB of the North Carolina Tar Heels Drake Maye joined Kyle Bailey earlier today from ACC Media Days as he previewed the upcoming season as well as the expectations for the Tar Heels entering 2023.

Drake started by reflecting back on 2022 and what he learned about himself as he learned to enjoy the moment, especially during the day-to-day work as he realized along the way how special the past year has been for him.

When it comes to expectations for this year Drake Maye got straight to the point when he said it’s ACC Championship or bust as last year’s loss to Clemson left a sour taste in his mouth and he wants to win the ACC Championship in his hometown where he watched Cam Newton growing up.

The focus turned to the Tar Heels season opener against South Carolina as Drake knows how big this game is, and how rowdy it can get as he noted he has heard some doubts that the Tar Heels will be greatly outmatched by Gamecock fans in September at Bank of America Stadium as he noted that people underestimate the Tar Heel fanbase and they travel well and he expects the same for the Duke Mayo Classic.
