Co-Host of the Buzz Beat Podcast Brian Geisinger joined Kyle Bailey on Monday to give his thoughts on the draft from the 2nd pick to the many potential options at pick 27.
The conversation started with Brian’s thoughts on the options for the 2nd pick as Brian told Kyle that Scoot had been his preferred option at 2. Brian expounded that Scoot would fit nicely with LaMelo as another potential advanced creator as well as a potential superstar. Regarding the size and shooting concerns, Brian understands that some people want a wing like Brandon Miller. Still, Brian noted that he is concerned with Brandon Miller’s finishing in the half-court and his handle needs more improvement.
The Hornets have 4 other picks in the draft starting at 27 and Brian hopes that the Hornets keep the 27th pick because he thinks there are many quality players available in that range such as Colby Jones of Xavier, but he does think some of the picks after that could be shuffled around in some sort of trade.
Brian’s last thought of the Hornets regarded some fans wondering if it is time to maybe trade LaMelo as he vehemently disagrees with that opinion as they just need to build around him and sign him to the rookie max.
