Jason Collette, Baseball Writer for RotoWire joined Kyle Bailey on Friday as he weighed in on the state of the MLB in 2023 entering 3 months, and how the rest of the year might play.

The conversation started with the Braves, as Jason thinks the reason why they are still atop the NL East for the most part is how some of the non-stars such as Marcel Ozuna and Sean Murphy have stepped up when Austin Riley or Ronald Acuna Jr. have gotten into a slump.

The most important topic surrounding the MLB so far has been the pitch clock, along with the banning of the shift as Jason pointed out how it has made the game better and quicker to digest. The only concern is that injuries are up, but Jason thinks that has been more of a trend over the last few years.

The conversation with Jason ended with what the future holds for Shohei Ohtani as Jason thinks the contract he could get this offseason will be one of the most historic, and if the Angels decide to trade him before the deadline, it could be one of the biggest deadline deals ever.
