The wait for Julius Peppers is finally over. After two years of being passed over for the college football hall of fame, it was announced on Monday that Peppers will be inducted this coming December and will be honored on-campus during the 2024 season. Current head coach Mack Brown expressed his thoughts on Peppers’ induction […]

There wasn't a coach that talked more than Charlotte head football coach, Biff Poggi did last year in the preseason, entering his first season on the job. Poggi made bold proclamations that the 49ers would finish top-15 nationally defensively, and would compete to win the AAC, in their first year as a member. None of those things happened, as the 49ers finished 3-9 on the season, and they were 89th in scoring defense.

After suffering back-to-back losses against high-profile competition, #11 North Carolina was seeking a win over a ranked opponent, to validate its position in the polls at #11. That opportunity came in the Jumpman Invitational, as UNC met #7 and previously unbeaten Oklahoma, in Charlotte. After a scoreless first two minutes, R.J. Davis swished in the first bucket of the game, and the Tar Heels never looked back on their way to an 81-69 win over the Sooners. Davis was one of four starters to score in double figures, as Armando Bacot (14), Cormac Ryan (13), and Harrison Ingram (11), all produced on that end of the floor. Carolina was able to overcome another poor rebounding performance, as they lost the rebounding battle 41-34, another sign that this isn't your vintage UNC rebounding team.

During Tuesday’s edition of the Mac & Bone Show, North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame Class. Executive Director, Trip Durham, joined the show as he announced the newest inductees to the Hall of Fame. One of the names listed was former Davidson HC Bob McKillop, who joined Kyle Bailey this afternoon to reflect on the […]

The family of Tar Heel great Eric Montross reported his passing on Sunday at the age of 52. According to his family, he was diagnosed with cancer in March. From 1990 to 1994, Montross played for UNC’s legendary head coach, Dean Smith. During his freshman and sophomore years, he was also a teammate of Hubert […]

Tomorrow the Army/Navy rivalry renews itself in the 124th edition of America's Game. An Army win over Navy would secure the Black Knights the Commander-In-Chief Trophy, which the service academies compete for yearly. For the last two days, the Wes & Walker Show on WFNZ was broadcasting live from Radio Row in Boston, to get you ready for the final game before bowl season kicks off later this month, and they had quite the guests while on location.

Just like that, the college regular season has come and gone, and after Championship Weekend took place over the weekend, the College Football Playoff is officially set. The Playoff committee selected Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama as the four teams that will compete for the national championship, starting on New Year's Day. In the process, the committee left out Florida State, an undefeated Power 5 conference champion, the first time an undefeated power conference champion failed to make the Playoff, making this the most unprecedented move in the history of the Playoff. This decision led to many debates on many different platforms, with every show asking the same question. Did the Playoff committee get it right?

FOX Sports broadcasting legend, Tim Brando joined Jeff Rickard to discuss the College Football Playoff Committee’s decision to leave FSU out and instead put Alabama in. Tim was not happy at all with the decision to not include FSU, claiming that the committee leaving out a 13-0 football team that continued to win down the […]

Normally, a Monday after a Panther loss is filled with vitriol towards the team, especially so far in 2023. However, this Monday was a unique one, as the displeasure of many football in this area of the country is towards the College Football Playoff Committee and their final four that was released on Sunday afternoon. […]

The 2023 college football regular season has come and gone, with Championship Weekend just a few days away, and the Charlotte 49ers won't be featured in the AAC title game. After the preseason was highlighted by first-year head coach Biff Poggi, making bold claims about his team, and challenging his fan base to give more money, all the talk, didn't translate onto the field, as Charlotte went 3-9. Had Poggi not made headlines all preseason long, this wouldn't have been seen as a major disappointment, but when your head coach talks the way that Poggi did, it doesn't help.
