The Panthers concluded mandatory minicamp last week, and they are now in the quietest part of the off-season before training camp opens next month. After going 2-15, it's fair to say that expectations aren't high for the Panthers entering the 2024 season, with progression being the most important thing for Bryce Young, as he enters his second season in the NFL. With that in mind, there are people that do think that Carolina can compete next season, after boosting the offensive line, and adding multiple weapons for Bryce Young to utilize in the passing game.

Believe it or not, we're closing in on the NBA Draft, and sooner after that, NBA free agency will take place. The Charlotte Hornets are looking to add to a talented young roster, as they hold the sixth pick in the draft, but it's unknown how aggressive new ownership will be in the open market. They have to make a decision on Miles Bridges and if they want to invest in him in the long term, as it's unknown if they can adequately replace his production in the draft.

Wes & Walker debate if the Panthers signing Jadeveon Clowney to a two-year “prove-it” deal was a smart move for the team. Does the pass rusher still have gas in the tank and will he be able to replace the productivity of Brian Burns? Wes believes that Clowney wants to continue playing after his two-year […]

In today's college athletics, there isn't much of an off-season for major sports like football and basketball, which makes for a busy spring on and off the field. For Charlotte, while they failed to make the NCAA Tournament, they've been busy trying to rebuild their roster for 2024-25. Biff Poggi completed his second spring, as Charlotte's head football coach, as he looks to guide the 49ers to their second-ever bowl appearance, and Charlotte softball made the NCAA Tournament, after winning the American Conference tournament, their first season in the conference.

We are nearing a month until the 2024 NBA Draft with the Hornets holding the 6th overall pick. To break down the Draft, Paul Biancardi of ESPN joined Kyle Bailey to break down some of the key prospects that could be in play for the Charlotte Hornets. Paul was asked about the guy the Hornets […]

When you don't have a baseball team, and your NBA team isn't playing deep into the postseason, the late spring, and early summer months can be lean for a sports radio host, or even a sports columnist. Except in Charlotte, where there always seems to be something worth writing, or talking about, going on. This week hasn't been any different, with the Panthers taking the field for the start of OTAs, the 65th running of the Coca-Cola 600 is this Sunday, and that's right, Hornets guard LaMelo Ball is in the news again, this time facing a lawsuit, after allegedly running over an 11 year old's foot.

Last week, the ACC held its annual spring meetings at Amelia Island, with both football and basketball entrenched in their respective off-seasons. There was a lot to talk about, considering that two schools, Clemson and Florida State are actively suing the league, as they are seeking an exit from the conference, which overshadows the league not getting the respect they want on the playing field, after FSU was left out of the College Football Playoff, and schools like Wake Forest and Pittsburgh were left out of the NCAA Tournament.

When Mike Hill left Florida for Charlotte, he was motivated to build one of the top athletic departments at the Group of 5 level, and after a long wait, combined with a lot of hard work, it appears his vision is coming to fruition. The men's basketball team finished third in the American this past season, they just hired an accomplished coach to guide the women's program, and after an uneven first season of the Biff Poggi era on the football field, Charlotte could contend for a bowl game in 2024. The icing on the cake happened over the weekend, as Charlotte's softball team won the American Conference tournament, clinching a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
