We're inching closer to the 2022 NFL Draft, and a sign of that was the Senior Bowl that took place over the weekend in Mobile, Alabama which featured some of the top draft prospects, as it does every year. Of those in attendance was Liberty QB, Malik Willis, who figures to be a first-round selection later this year, despite competing at the Group of 5 levels. Willis was joined by UNC QB Sam Howell, Pitt Panther, Kenny Pickett, Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder, and a few others, but Joe Marino, from The Draft Network, joined the Nick Wilson Show earlier today, and he expressed that Willis distanced himself from his competitors:

The Tar Heels entered Saturday's meeting with the Duke Blue Devils in Dean E. Smith Center coming off of a four-game winning streak, but in Coach K's final game in Chapel Hill, the team simply got embarrassed. The Tar Heels never led and were down as much as 28 points late in the second half and never got within single digits of the lead after the 16:20 mark of the first half.

Saturday night in the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, one of the best rivalries in all of the sports will add a new chapter to it's story as the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils travel down US 15-501 to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in a game that will determine who is in first place in the ACC as we head just past the midway point in conference play. The Blue Devils, on paper, are the better team heading into this matchup, but the Tar Heels have been a much different team in the Smith Center this season than they have been on the road, where a lot of their issues have popped up.

Saturday night the greatest rivalry in sports renews itself, as Duke will visit UNC, for the final time under Coach K. Duke enters the month ranked team in the country, the lone ACC squad to appear in the AP top 25, as they sit atop of the conference. The Tar Heels have had an up and down season under first-year head coach, Hubert Davis, but have won four in a row, and currently sit second in the league. O their 16 wins, they've yet to beat a team that qualifies as a "Quad 1" win, which is why despite their 16-6 overall record, and 8-3 mark in league play, they are sitting on the 11 line, for the NCAA Tournament. A win over Duke would solidify Carolina's NCAA Tournament standing, and vault them atop of the ACC. During this winning streak, Carolina has won games in a variety of different ways, raising the question, of if this team has turned the corner. Brendan Marks, Duke and North Carolina reporter for The Athletic joined the Nick Wilson Show earlier today on WFNZ, to answer just that:

The biggest story this week in the NFL looked like it was going to be the official retirement of Tom Brady after 22 years in the NFL, but that has pushed to the back burner and rightfully so, for the lawsuit filed against the NFL by former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. In the suit that was filed on Tuesday, Flores says that prior to his scheduled interview with the New York Giants, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick texted him a congratulatory message on getting the job as the team's head coach. Shortly after sending the message, Belichick responded apologizing and saying that the message was intended for Brian Daboll, who eventually was eventually named the Giants coaching earlier this week.

The Carolina Panthers haven't made the postseason, under David Tepper, and after a 5-12 season, it's hard to see the team make the postseason next season. The team is still searching for a franchise QB, is maligned by a bad offensive line, and with a plethora of free agents, many personnel questions exist as we enter the 2022 off-season. That didn't stop former tight end for Carolina, and current broadcaster for Fox Sports, Greg Olsen, saying today on the Nick Wilson show, that the Panthers aren't far off from making a return to the postseason

The Head Coach of the Davidson Wildcats Men’s Basketball Team Bob McKillop joined Kyle Bailey on Wednesday’s edition of the Clubhouse as he discussed what has made this year’s Davidson team so special, and how he is trying to stay focused and avoid any outside noise about this team. Kyle first asked Bob about the […]

The Beat Reporter covering the Panthers for Panthers.com and dispenser of wisdom returned to The Clubhouse With Kyle Bailey on Tuesday as he gave a recap from the first practices of the Senior Bowl, and Darin went into what Scott Fitterer and the rest of the Panthers brass are keeping a close on throughout the […]

Since the end of last season, the NFC has seen legendary quarterback Drew Brees and Tom Brady retire, and Sean Payton walk away from coaching, leaving a void at the top of the division. Not to mention, that at some point, Falcons QB, Matt Ryan will be retiring as he is at the end […]

The Tar Heels will head to Louisville on Tuesday night as they look to continue the momentum that they built off a three-game homestand that they swept last week in the Dean Dome. The hope is that this can be the turning point for a season where the Tar Heels have had a lot of inconsistencies especially on the road and has left many fans frustrated after similar issues to close the Roy Williams era, even with the fact that this is Hubert Davis' first season as a head coach at the varsity level.
