The Tar Heels entered Saturday’s meeting with the Duke Blue Devils in Dean E. Smith Center coming off of a four-game winning streak, but in Coach K’s final game in Chapel Hill, the team simply got embarrassed. The Tar Heels never led and were down as much as 28 points late in the second half and never got within single digits of the lead after the 16:20 mark of the first half.

Hubert Davis said after the game that the effort wasn’t the issue this loss it has been at other times throughout the season and former Tar Heel forward and head coach Matt Doherty joined the Mac Attack this morning and agreed that that is really the biggest issue facing the Tar Heels right now.

“They’ve got to get more talent in there. Coach Smith would say ‘I could draw a play to get the ball to the block and then recruiting takes over’. You need the talent and right now that is the biggest concern. You have to get the talent first and foremost, but then you have to mold it into a team.”
