For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Panthers have started the season 0-2 after a deflating loss in their home opener to the New Orleans Saints 20-17 last night.

Despite another stellar defensive performance, the team was unable to capitalize offensively, scoring just nine points and totaling 164 yards of total offense in the first 57 minutes of the game. Through the first two games of the season, the Panthers are averaging just 260.0 of total offense and 4.1 yards per play in the first two games of the season.

The offensive struggles have many reevaluating their preseason expectations, including our own WFNZ personalities. Will Palaszczuk announced he was giving up hope on his 12-win preseason prediction on the Carolina Football Postgame Show Monday night following the loss and Chris McClain wasn’t far behind him Tuesday morning. “We do have the ability as grown adults to reset our expectations. I am going to try to get away from expecting anything. I’m just going to watch these games and hope for Bryce’s growth because that’s what’s important.”
