Kyle Busch Hospitalized, Will Miss Coca-Cola 600
NASCAR driver Kyle Busch will miss this weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway after being hospitalized with a severe undisclosed illness, according to a statement released by his family on Thursday.
The family said Busch is undergoing treatment and asked for privacy as they deal with the situation.
No additional details about the illness were provided.
Busch, 41, is a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and one of the sport’s most accomplished drivers.
He won Cup titles in 2015 and 2019 and has 63 career victories in the series.

Busch also won the Coca-Cola 600 in 2018, adding another major result to a career that has made him one of NASCAR’s most recognizable figures.
Richard Childress Racing said Austin Hill will replace Busch in the No. 8 Chevrolet for Sunday’s race at Charlotte.
The team also voiced support for Busch and his family while he recovers.
Busch is in his fourth season with Richard Childress Racing.
His last Cup Series win came in 2023.
Through 12 Cup races this season, he has recorded two top-10 finishes and has struggled to find consistent form.
He currently sits outside the top tier of the standings as the season heads toward the summer stretch.
His absence appears to mark Busch’s first missed Cup race in more than a decade.
The last significant interruption to his schedule came in 2015, when he missed the opening 11 races of the season while recovering from injuries suffered in a crash at Daytona.
NASCAR has not announced any further update on Busch’s expected return.
