On Monday, the Wes & Walker Show took to the road to travel up to Pine Island Country Club and broadcast from the 48th annual 49er Club Golf Outing. Along the way, the guys got the chance to sit down with some of the biggest names in the Charlotte 49er athletic department to discuss the state of their programs and the health of the department as a whole. Here’s a look at who they got the chance to sit down with.

Football head coach Tim Albin was the first to sit down with the guys, as he discussed how spring ball went and the state of the team heading into his second season on the job.

Following Albin, the guys turned back the clock a little bit, as they got the opportunity to talk with former men’s basketball head coach Bobby Lutz. The guys discussed the standing of Charlotte basketball under Wes Miller and how Coach Lutz would fare in this day and age of the sport, amongst other stuff.

Later in the day, the guys talk about the current state of the men’s basketball program with assistant coach Marcus Paige. The guys chatted about this year’s roster coming together for the 49ers and whether he or Wes Miller is Roy Williams’ favorite.

The guys also got the opportunity to sit down with one of the most successful coaches on campus, men’s golf head coach Ryan Cabbage. Cabbage talked about the team’s run of success, including a great finish to the conference tournament this season, and how college golf is different from other sports in terms of parity.

The guys closed out the day by sitting down with new athletic director Kevin White as they took a look at the direction of Charlotte athletics, his decisions to retain Tim Albin and hire Wes Miller and how the program can embrace the backdrop of the city of Charlotte.
