Carolina Panthers v Minnesota Vikings

Panthers rookie defensive back Jeremy Chinn was not selected as a finalist for the 2020 Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year Award and Kyle Bailey is flabbergasted.

Consider Chinn’s stats:

117 Tackles

2 Forced Fumbles

2 Fumble Recoveries (Both returned for TDs on back-to-back plays from scrimmage vs Minnesota on November 29)

5 QB hits

1 QB Sack

1 Interception

Add the fact that he missed two games due to injury makes these numbers even more remarkable.

Bailey’s reaction to the news….

“How is that possible? We have this thought that maybe (Chinn) would get ‘big leagued’ as part of a big market vs small market bias and that Chase Young would beat him out for the award, but to not even make the top 5? Are you kidding me?”

The four finalists are Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young.

Bailey and Co-Host Stan Norfleet took particular exception with the selection of James Robinson over Chinn to the final five.
