The Carolina Panthers haven't come out and said that they are searching for a veteran edge rusher, but many in the fanbase believe that this is still an area of need. On Monday, one of those veteran options came off the board when Leonard Floyd signed with the Buffalo Bills on a one-year deal. If the Panthers are going to find that edge rusher, it will have to come from a group that doesn't have nearly the history that Floyd has in the Ejiro Evero system.

Daron Vaught from ESPN+ and ACCNX joins the Mac & Bone show to recap the wild first weekend of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. An eventful weekend saw six teams from North Carolina get eliminated. We knew it was going to be a tough ask for Charlotte FC to go from Los Angeles to Philadelphia to face the defending Eastern Conference champs on a short turnaround. Add in the fact that the team was still without forwards Enzo Copetti, Kamil Jozwiak and McKenzie Gaines and it was nearly an impossible task.

The Charlotte Hornets are just 23 days away from selecting what could be another franchise player to pair with former No. 3 overall pick LaMelo Ball. At least we think so. On Wednesday morning, Field of 68 college basketball analyst Terrence Oglesby stopped by with the Mac & Bone Show for a little bit of NBA Draft talk. While the guys were excited about his idea of taking Scoot Henderson with the second overall pick, they were a little shocked by what he said he would do with LaMelo Ball in that circumstance.

This weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway was filled with a multitude of storylines. After a smooth Friday night that saw Xfinity Series practice and qualifying go off without a hitch and both the ARCA Menards and Craftsmen Truck Series race without any issues, weather became the theme of the next two days.

The Charlotte 49ers announced the program's third Hall of Fame class on Wednesday morning and it included one of the most successful members of the basketball program. Bobby Lutz is the winningest coach in the history of Niners basketball, posting a 218-158 record in twelve seasons as the head man. In total, Lutz led the program to eight postseason appearances, including five NCAA Tournaments. He led the 1998-99 team, his first, to their highest NCAA  Tournament seed in program history (5) and the second round of the tourney, their deepest run outside of the run to the 1977 Final Four.

In a critical offseason for the Hornets, Rod Boone, writer for the Charlotte Observer joins Mac & Bone to discuss what needs to be done to improve the team. Sunday is the 64th running of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, one of the crown jewels on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule. There are plenty of storylines that the series will bring to town with them this weekend including one of the most polarizing drivers in recent memory. Trackhouse driver Ross Chastain has been one of the biggest talking points in the sport for the better part of the last year and things hit a boiling point a few weeks ago in Kansas. Cup Series rookie Noah Gragson took exception to the way Chastain raced him in Turn 4 late in the race and got in his face after the race on pit road. After a few second of conversation Gragson grabbed ahold of Chastain right lapel and started shoving him which led to warnings from Chastain to stop. When Gragson refused, Chastain hit him in the face with a right hook which led to pushing and shoving that was immediately broken up by team members and NASCAR officials.

Camerun Peoples is one of the most successful running backs to roll through the confides of Kidd-Brewer Stadium for the Appalachian State Mountaineers. In his four seasons with the program, Peoples ran for 2,830 yards, 33 touchdowns and averaged a program-record 6.22 yards per carry, all while starting just 15 of the 36 games he played in.

The Charlotte Hornets must determine what to do after bounding from fourth to second place in this year’s NBA Draft lottery. While G League Ignite point guard Scoot Henderson was long considered the No. 2 pick in the class, the Hornets have LaMelo Ball at point guard. If Charlotte passes on Henderson, Alabama big man […]
