The MLS postseason officially got underway last night, with the play-in games to decide the final playoff field. In the meantime, Charlotte FC is busy getting ready for their first-ever playoff series as an MLS franchise, as they’ll take on Orlando City FC, in a best-of-three series, which starts on Sunday. The Crown have quickly risen up the ranks of the MLS in their short history, improving upon their finish from the previous season, in every year the franchise has existed. Now, they are hoping to play deep into the postseason and continue the momentum of establishing a fan base in the Queen City.
A big reason for their success is their veteran captain, Ashley Westwood, who has led the team on and off the pitch, and has been a natural fit in Dean Smith’s system. Earlier today, the captain of The Crown, joined the Mac & Bone Show, to talk about the way the club is playing going into the postseason, how the game changes once you get into the postseason, and more.
You can listen to the Mac & Bone Show (Charlotte’s #1 morning show), every weekday from 6-10 AM, on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ, and the WFNZ app.
