Miles Bridges’ coast-to-coast layup with 3.8 seconds to play notched a 115-114 win for the Charlotte Hornets over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

Tre Mann blocked Trent Forrest’s shot at the other end to seal the victory for the Hornets, capping a fourth quarter where Charlotte outscored Atlanta 38-22 in the 2nd Half.

After leading by six at halftime, the Hawks extended their lead to as many as 18 points in the third quarter. Charlotte stormed back with runs of 20-8 and 16-5 in separate portions of the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.

Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 27 points, passing Rex Chapman for third most points by a rookie in franchise history. He now sits at 1,271 points this season.

The loss virtually eliminates the Hawks from playing their NBA Play-In Round game at home, needing two road wins and some help from the Bulls to prevent them having to go to Chicago at the end of the regular season.

Charlotte (20-60) continues its season-ending road trip in Boston Friday, with coverage on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ beginning at 6:30 for a 7:30 PM tip time.
