Tonight, the greatest rivalry in sports renews itself, as Duke hosts North Carolina, in the second top-10 matchup between the two rivals this season. Carolina has already earned a share of the ACC regular season title, but with a win over Duke, they’d outright with the league for the first time since 2017. As for Duke, they are looking to earn a share of the regular season title, and with various different tiebreakers, they could end up being the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament next week.

Carolina won the first matchup in Chapel Hill, 93-84 behind a great performance from Armando Bacot, who registered a 25-point, 10 rebounds, 5 assists night. Harrison Ingram was also spectacular for UNC that night, scoring a then-season-high 21 points, as he made a barrage of three-pointers. Duke will look to minimize their impact tonight while hoping to get more from their stars in Jeremy Roach and Kyle Filipowski.

Brendan Marks is a national college hoops writer for The Athletic, and yesterday he joined the Wes & Walker Show on WFNZ to talk about tonight’s contest, he talked about both Duke, and UNC peaking at the right time, he talked about where the rivalry is at this point, and why we’ll never see the likes of Armando Bacot or Jeremy Roach in college hoops again.

You can listen to the Wes & Walker Show every day from 12-3 PM, on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ, and the WFNZ app.

Coverage of tonight’s game will start on our sister station 99.3 WBT, at 6 PM.
