The Charlotte Hornets dropped to 0-3 head-to-head this season against the New York Knicks, losing their final game in East Group B of the NBA In-Season Tournament, 115-91, on Tuesday night.

Charlotte lost for the first time since finding out LaMelo Ball will miss extended time with an ankle strain suffered Sunday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Knicks have played the role of kryptonite for the Hornets this season, winning in three lopsided contests this season in Charlotte’s first 16 games. Brandon Miller shook off an injured ankle late in the second half to lead the Hornets in scoring with 18 points.

New York dominated in the second-chance point category, converting with 26 points on 15 offensive rebounds. Charlotte scored 12 second-chance points on its 12 offensive rebounds, with one possesion coming empty seven minutes into the second quarter with four missed shots on one possession.

The road trip for the Hornets (5-11) comes to a close Thursday night on the other side of the East River in Brooklyn, as Charlotte faces the Brooklyn Nets. Coverage begins on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ at 6:30 PM, with tip time at 7:30 PM.
