Thursday night was a busy night for the Charlotte Hornets as they selected 4 players in the 2023 NBA Draft hoping that each player from Brandon Miller to Amari Bailey can make a long-term impact on the organization. College Basketball and Recruiting Analyst Paul Biancardi joined The Kyle Bailey Show to break down each pick.

Despite many in the Hornets fan base wanting the Hornets to select Scoot Henderson they took Alabama Forward Brandon Miller as Paul preferred Miller because he brings the athleticism, length, and shooting ability that every roster covets. Paul also pointed out that he complements LaMelo’s game well and is a competitive defender.

With the 27th pick, the Hornets selected Nick Smith Jr. out of Arkansas as he was a top 5 recruit last year but struggled due to injuries and not finding his footing with the Razorbacks, but Paul believes this is an absolute steal for the Hornets because he is a top 15 talent and once he learns the system in Charlotte he could start the blossom.

Paul also broke down the Hornets 2nd round picks first with James Nnaji as he has a lot of raw size and could develop with some time in Greensboro, and Paul was also a fan of the Amari Bailey pick as he loves his intangibles despite needing to work on his shot, Paul believes he can turn into another steal for the Hornets down the road.
