The NBA Draft Analyst for ESPN joined Kyle Bailey on The Clubhouse, as he reacted to the Hornets getting the 2nd pick in the NBA Draft, and what he makes of some of the players in that range.

Paul first started the interview by discussing the Spurs winning the Victor Wemanyama sweepstakes as he said he is very mature, and for his size, he has a rare amount of touch. Paul also thinks he will fit right in with the Spurs culture to help him get acclimated to the NBA.

When it came to the Hornets options, Kyle first asked about Guard Scoot Henderson as Paul said he is the most NBA-ready when it comes to physicality and competitiveness. Paul also pointed out how he is a downhill attacker, who is terrific from the mid-range but does need to work on his 3-point shooting.

Kyle then asked whether or not a Scoot Henderson-LaMelo Ball backcourt could work as Paul told the audience:

“No. Because LaMelo is now starting to shoot the ball much better, but LaMelo has become a more ball dominant PG. I don’t think Scoot Henderson is what the Hornets need, and when it comes to pure talent Brandon Miller is the best player outside of Victor Wembanyama.”

Paul continued to break down Brandon Miller as he loves the combination of his positional size, shooting ability, as well as his playmaking skills that really make him stand out. The real question with Brandon Miller is with his off-the-court issue as Paul thinks his mistake is with judgment on who he hung out with during his time at Alabama and he thinks he has learned his lesson.
