The former QB of the Carolina Panthers joined Kyle Bailey on Friday’s edition of the Kyle Bailey Show as he reacted to the Panthers hiring Frank Reich as their 6th full-time HC, and how this could impact the offseason.

Before reacting to the Frank Reich hire, Jake gave his thoughts on Steve Wilks not getting the job as he is disappointed for Steve as he did a tremendous job of turning around the Panthers season and he understands the frustrations from fans.

When it comes to Frank Reich, Jake said he likes the hire of Frank Reich as he doesn’t think David Tepper made the wrong move in hiring Reich. Kyle then asked if hiring Reich had more to do with getting an offensive philosophy as Jake thinks it has to be the reasoning behind the hire just based on the way the NFL has been leaning for a while, and the Panthers need a franchise QB.

The draft then came up and the idea of Carolina trading up to #1 was broached to Jake as he told Kyle he would be ok with the decision if there is 100% conviction from the front office that the guy they are drafting is going to be the guy, but Jake doesn’t know if that type of QB is in this draft.

Despite many people doubting the future of Matt Corral, Jake said that he should be doing cartwheels now that Frank Reich is the HC with a proven track record of developing QBs and even if they draft another QB it should not affect his development.

Outside of the need at QB, Jake ended by giving his wishlist for the offseason as the main focus is stacking up the defensive line as he referenced how strong the trenches are for all of the teams still vying for a Super Bowl.
