Mike Kaye Breaks Down Jalen Coker’s New Deal

Even though mandatory mini-camp ended a bit earlier than expected for the Panthers last week, they still had some news to share as they extended former UDFA WR Jalen Coker to a 3-year deal to keep him in Charlotte for the rest of the decade. Panthers beat writer for The Charlotte Observer, Mike Kaye, joined Kyle Bailey to discuss the deal as well as other Panthers news & notes.
When it came to last week’s extension of Jalen Coker, Mike told Kyle that they are essentially doing what baseball teams sometimes do with young prospects in buying out arbitration years, and this solidifies the top of the WR room in Carolina over the next few years.
Mike would go on to discuss whether or not this could be the year it all comes together for XL, and how different Brad Idzik could be as a play-caller compared to Dave Canales.
