The Head Coach of the Charlotte Hornets Steve Clifford joined Kyle Bailey on Wednesday’s edition of The Clubhouse as he discussed what he has learned about his team throughout the preseason and how severe LaMelo Ball’s injury is.

Kyle first asked Coach Clifford about the preseason record being 0-4 heading into the final preseason game of the season and if that bothers him as he pointed out how every team including the Hornets sub during the preseason is different compared to the regular season and during this time you want to play winning basketball and this part of the season is more about getting your guys in rhythm more than anything.

Steve Clifford then gave an update on LaMelo’s ankle injury as he told Kyle:

“I actually think we are fortunate that the injury is not worse. He’s (LaMelo) has been very positive and upbeat about this situation and now it’s just about him doing his rehab and hopefully his ankle responds quickly.”

With LaMelo being out for the start of the season that will likely lead to Terry Rozier being asked to do more Coach Clifford has always been a fan of what he can do, and now that he is working with him he has been better to work with than Steve thought.

Coach Clifford also continued to sing the praises of Nick Richards as he loved how he was able to bring the energy off of the bench, and Steve also pointed to JT Thor as a guy who can learn from mistakes and not let it phase him along with being a sponge.
