Today on the Mac Attack, Mac and T-Bone discussed the reports of the Panthers having an interest in QB prospect Mac Jones. According to former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum, Mac Jones won’t make it past the Panthers at pick 8 in the NFL Draft. Mac Jones was one of the QB’s for the Senior Bowl team coached by Panthers coaches, and Matt Rhule was raving all week about Jones’ play.
Mac and T-Bone discussed why or why not they thought Mac Jones would be a good fit in Carolina, and they differed on opinions. Mac says he isn’t the biggest fan of Mac Jones due to him having amazing weapons at Alabama. Mac also says he just really wants a game-changer at QB like they had in Cam Newton, and he just sees Mac Jones as a game-manager. T-Bone says he likes the idea of Mac Jones due to getting him most likely means you can keep pick #8. He goes on to say the Panthers could pick a Left Tackle or a playmaker like Kyle Pitts at pick 8, then trade back into the first round to draft Mac Jones.
