The NBA Insider for Bleacher Report as well as the host of the “Please Don’t Aggregate This Podcast” joined Kyle Bailey on Monday’s edition of The Clubhouse as he went into the Hornets tumultuous offseason, and what could happen next.

Jake first touched on the biggest news of the offseason and that is Miles Bridges and his domestic violence charge as Jake said it is a basketball conversation that is being held up by pretty gruesome allegations and the Hornets just have to wait to see how the court case goes. Jake also pointed out that any resolution with his contract won’t happen anytime soon and Miles will not want to take the current qualifying offer.

Kyle then asked about some people view the Hornets bringing Steve Clifford back after Kenny Atkinson backed out of the role at the last minute as he said some people in Charlotte have told him that Steve could be the perfect band-aid for this mess to grow up and get better on defense, while other people around the league thinks this could cause some of the same problems that New Orleans faced when they brought Stan Van Gundy in.

When it comes to the Hornets possibly still making any moves of note he said that it is not likely, but they have been focused on trying to bring in a player for the 3rd PG position and they are looking at Isaiah Thomas and former Hornets legend in Kemba Walker.

The conversation ended with Jake weighing in on how this offseason could impact LaMelo as he told Kyle:

“I think LaMelo will look at this as an opportunity to take that step up to take this team to the playoffs and not just for an appearance but to make some noise.”
