Former North Carolina Tar Heels player and coach as well as former scout for the Indiana Pacers Matt Doherty returned to The Clubhouse With Kyle Bailey for his weekly visit as he weighed in on the Hornets move at the trade deadline, and how worrisome the Hornets shooting woes are.

The conversation started with the news that broke nearly 40 minutes before Coach Doherty stepped in the studio with the Hornets trading Ish Smith, Vernon Carey Jr., and a 2nd round pick to the Wizards for Montrezl Harrell as Matt told Kyle:

“Montrezl Harrell gives them (Hornets) much more versatility and depth at the center position, and he brings a toughness and energy to Charlotte.”

Matt then also pointed out that Montrezl is really good at offensive putbacks and rebounds in general which could help the Hornets who are currently struggling to shoot the ball.

Later in the segment Matt was asked about the Hornets 6 game losing streak and the massive shooting woes that have coincided with it as he told Kyle sometimes when you rely on high volume shooting especially from outside the arch it can hurt you and the injury to Gordon Hayward is not helping things and Matt thinks all of this is exasperated in a month like February as it is the dog days of the NBA season.
