Hornets Rookie Kon Knueppel Sets NBA Record for 3-Pointers

Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel set an NBA record Thursday night for the most 3-pointers made by a rookie in a single season.
Knueppel hit his 207th 3-pointer late in the third quarter of Charlotteās 133-109 win over the Indiana Pacers.
The shot came off a pass from Sion James, his former Duke teammate. After a pump fake and a dribble to create space, Knueppel stepped behind the line and knocked down the record-breaking basket.

The previous rookie record of 206 3-pointers was set by Keegan Murray of the Sacramento Kings during the 2022-23 season.
Knueppel reached the milestone with 22 games still left in the regular season. He and Murray are the only rookies in NBA history to make at least 200 3-pointers in a season.
