Former ACC Coach of the Year turned College Basketball Analyst for ESPN joined Kyle Bailey on Wednesday’s edition of the Clubhouse as he looked at the ACC as a whole with conference play getting into full swing, and what teams are standing out early on.

Seth started by reacting to the altercation that Coach K had with Georgia Tech Guard Michael DeVoe as he told Kyle that it is unfair to really judge the situation due to not knowing what is being said but he thinks Michael should have not said anything, and he thinks part of this chalks up to the tension going around with COVID right now as Duke just got out of the protocols.

When it came to the ACC as a whole Seth agreed with a lot of the consensus that the conference is down this year as they could not win the key games in non-conference games which could help get more teams into the tournament in March. teams like NC State show promise, but then get snake-bitten in the worst ways possible. Another team like Virginia Tech is going through the pains of having to play at their best on a nightly basis and seeing their room for error closing.

One positive for the ACC so far this year has been Wake Forest in Steve Forbes 2nd year getting Wake to a 12-3 record as Seth told Kyle:

“Steve’s done a great job and his team has some size, toughness, and maturity and Steve has brought great energy and joy to the Wake Forest program.”

When it came to the Heels Seth said that one of the things that are good for them has been the improved play of RJ Davis and Caleb Love, but he notices how they are going through some growing pains in Hubert’s first year but overall he thinks the Heels will be good this year and Hubert will be fine in the long-run as he called Hubert a “Basketball Savant”.
