Pittsburgh Steelers v Cincinnati Bengals

Monday was a rough day for Panther fans, as they saw Brian Burns get traded away to the Giants, and not get a first-round pick in return, and they saw Frankie Luvu leave the team in free agency, signing with Washington. While Carolina added two offensive linemen to help protect Bryce Young, it didn’t do enough to help overcome the loss of two of the better defensive players on the team. Yesterday though, Dan Morgan was active, looking to get Brycec Young a weapon in the passing game, and he found one in the form of Diontae Johnson, striking a trade that involved a pick swap, along with sending Donte Jackson in Pittsburgh, finding a willing trade partner, before outright cutting him.

Johnson is a separation artist, which should give Bryce an open target down the field, something he didn’t have last year. During Johnson’s time in Pittsburgh, he totaled just one, 1,000-yard season, but his 11.2 yards per reception would be a nice welcome to a wide receiving core that lacked production outside of Adam Thielen a year ago.

Brooke Pryor covers the Steelers for ESPN, and earlier today, she joined the Wes & Walker Show on WFNZ, as she talked about what Carolina is getting in Diontae Johnson after Carolina traded for him yesterday, why Pittsburgh wanted to trade for Donte Jackson, and more.

You can listen to the Wes & Walker Show, every day from 12-3 PM, on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ, and the WFNZ app.
