Carolina Panthers

Believe it or not, after an 0-2 start, the season is in fact not over for the Carolina Panthers. although to hear the fans say it, it might as well be. Sure history might not be on Carolina's side to win the NFC South or make the postseason as a wild card, but were those ever realistic expectations, for a franchise that hired a new head coach, and drafted a rookie QB? Now look, it is fair to say that you may not have expected the offense to look as bad as it has to start the season, or you didn't think the team would miss Austin Corbett as much as they have, but it still doesn't justify the outrage and frustration after two weeks. Whether the Panthers admitted publicly or not, this is a franchise in transition, and that is exactly what we're seeing on the football field.

For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Panthers have started the season 0-2 after a deflating loss in their home opener to the New Orleans Saints 20-17 last night. Despite another stellar defensive performance, the team was unable to capitalize offensively, scoring just nine points and totaling 164 yards of total offense […]

Last night's loss to the New Orleans Saints, dropped the Carolina Panthers to 0-2 on the 2023 season, with both losses coming in the division, and as you could imagine, the fallout has been extreme. After trading up to draft Bryce Young in the NFL Draft, after hiring an all-star coaching staff, expectations were high for the Panthers to return to being competitive both in the division and in the NFC overall. And while all of those things are still possible, given the struggles on the offensive side of the football, it's harder to see that vision coming to fruition this season.

Panthers legend Steve Smith joined Kyle Bailey for his weekly visit on WFNZ as he previewed tonight’s Monday Night Football game between the Saints and Panthers. Before the talk went to the game, Steve looked at both the Falcons and Buccaneers starting the year 2-0 as he said that while it doesn’t make tonight’s game […]

by Sharon Thorsland So the season opener didn’t exactly go as planned for the Panthers, who fell to the Falcons 24-10. They’ll get another chance to pick up a division win when they take on the Saints on Monday Night Football in their home opener. The Saints barely eked out a 16-15 win over the […]

The Saints Hall of Fame RB turned radio color analyst joined Kyle Bailey as he previewed the state of the Saints heading into Monday night’s divisional matchup against the Panthers. Deuce looked back at the Saints win over the Titans to start the season as he said while there is a lot of work to […]

After seeing Brady Christensen put on IR earlier in the week, this afternoon, Jaycee Horn was placed on the IR, after he suffered a hamstring injury, in the season-opening loss to the Atlanta Falcons. After the Panthers returned home, Reich had made it known that the injury was rather severe, and that surgery was an option for the third-year cornerback.

Today on the Kyle Bailey Show, the topic surrounding the Panthers injuries on both sides of the ball became the focus for both Kyle and the listening audience. The topic was broached how the Panthers are going to overcome two injuries to the O-Line, as well as Jaycee Horn, missing time due to his hamstring […]

This time last week, it was unclear whether or not Brian Burns would suit up in the season opener against the Falcons, after a hold-in, as he was hoping to receive a new contract. While Burns would eventually suit up, and perform at a high level, he still hasn't received a new contract. Now that won't impact his status for Monday's game against the Saints, it is worrisome that he hasn't received a new contract. Nick Bosa of the 49ers, earned a big payday just before the season started, and Chris Jones of the Chiefs, received a new contract, after missing their season-opening loss to the Lions. Meanwhile, Burns is still playing on his current agreed upon contract.

The biggest news that came out of Wednesday’s press conference from Panthers head coach Frank Reich is that the team is about as beat up as it can be exiting the first week of the season. Starting left guard Brady Christensen will miss the rest of this season with a bicep injury, which means, for […]
