On Friday afternoon, the Panthers signed defensive tackle Derrick Brown to an extension, locking up one of the sport’s best for the foreseeable future. The contract is for four years and $96 million, $63 million of which is guaranteed.

Earlier today, Brown joined the Mac & Bone Show after meeting with the media yesterday to talk about the contract. While he did talk about the extension with the boys, he also discussed how important the stability of the defensive coaching staff will be for him and the rest of the defensive line this season, how excited he is to play alongside A’Shawn Robinson and Jadeveon Clowney, whom the team added this offseason, and why a pool will be his first big purchase with the new money.
