Miles Bridges hit a three-pointer with 6.6 seconds to go in overtime and Jayson Tatum missed a game-tying free throw to give the Charlotte Hornets an end to their four-game losing skid, 121-118, on Tuesday night.

Bridges hit the corner three before Gordon Hayward fouled Tatum in the act of shooting a three. Tatum made the first two shots, but missed the second, and Hayward hit two free throws at the other end to make up the final margin. Bridges added the exclamation point on the game’s final play intercepted the final inbounds pass to secure the victory.

LaMelo Ball’s driving layup with 7.2 to play capped a 9-0 run to draw even and send the game to the extra session. Sam Hauser missed a long-three pointer for the win at the end of regulation.

Tatum had 45 points to lead the Celtics, with a career-high 31 coming in the first half, but the Hornets fans will only remember his final miss.

Ball led the Hornets with 36 points, with double-doubles coming on the front line from Mark Williams (18 points & 16 rebounds) & Bridges (14 points & 15 rebounds).

The win for the Hornets snapped a four-game losing streak, as they earned their first win at Spectrum Center since an opening-night triumph over the Atlanta Hawks.

Charlotte’s final contest of the five-game homestand comes Wednesday night, when the Hornets host the Washington Wizards. Tip time is set for 7 PM with coverage beginning on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ at 6 PM with Hornets Pregame.
