The former NFL Executive of the year for the Saints and current Director of Player Personnel for the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL joined Kyle Bailey on Wednesday as he weighed in on the current Panthers coaching search from Steve Wilks to Frank Reich.

The interview started with Randy reacting to the reports that teams may not be wanting to give up draft assets for Sean Payton as he thought it would be hard to get Sean Payton due to the compensation you would have to give to the Saints, and he thinks teams were reluctant to give him the amount of power he wanted.

When it comes to Steve Wilks, Randy thought he did a tremendous job given the circumstances this past year and he said he would consider Wilks as a really good option the Panthers should give a solid look at Steve Wilks being a finalist for the job.

Another name that is in the hunt for the job is former Colts HC Frank Reich Randy told Kyle that he could get behind the Panthers hiring Frank as Randy knows he is a guy who is a strong leader as well as an innovative mind on the offensive end of the ball. Randy also thinks that Frank could learn from his mistakes during his time with the Colts and he can apply those lessons potentially in Carolina with the Panthers.

The conversation ended with Randy’s current role in the XFL as he noted how he has been pleasantly surprised with the number of strong players who have not gotten NFL opportunities that will be a part of this league and it should be an exciting season for fans wanting to watch good football coming up right after the Super Bowl.
