The Head Football Coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks Shane Beamer joined Kyle Bailey on Wednesday’s show as he recapped the 2 massive wins in 2 weeks for the Gamecocks and the momentum that the program has now.

The conversation started with his emotions in Death Valley late in Saturday’s game against Clemson he said it was a long 4th quarter as they just couldn’t put the game away, but once the clock hit zero he was filled with absolute joy. He was most happy for the players who returned to finally beat Clemson along with the fans of the Gamecock program as he knows how special this rivalry is.

Just a couple of weeks ago, South Carolina lost big in Gainsville to the Florida Gators Shane said the tone of the season changed in that locker room after the 38-6 loss as Shane told his team that they had a chance to change the narrative of the program along with the big picture with Tennessee and Clemson coming up on the schedule. He also noted how his father told him no one is more suited to deal with this situation than him heading into the Tennessee game.

Shane then heaped a ton of praise on QB Spencer Rattler as he knows he has taken a lot of criticism this year but he has been a fantastic teammate as Shane told Kyle before the Tennessee game he talked with Spencer and reminded him despite not having the stats this year, he was the first SC QB to beat Texas A&M, got the Gamecocks ranked along with another bowl appearance, and now he has a chance to cement his legacy in the final two games as Shane is happy for what he has accomplished over the last 2 games.

When it comes to the momentum the Gamecocks program has right now Shane told Kyle:

“As we go into 2023 there’s probably never been more excitement with the program right now. There’s a lot of momentum on and off the field. Last year was good, but to come back this year and to win 8 (maybe 9) with this schedule when people were predicting 5 or 6 wins is special.”
