It's no secret that the Panthers are in desperate need of offensive line help and late last week, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had the team addressing that need. In his first mock draft of the season, he had the team taking Mississippi State offensive tackle Charles Cross, the third tackle off the board behind Alabama tackle Evan Neal, who he had going 3rd to the Texans, and Ikem Ekwonu, who he had going 5th to the Giants.
The Senior NFL Draft Analyst for The Draft Network joined Kyle Bailey on Tuesday’s edition of the Clubhouse as he looked at the early landscape for the Panthers and the draft, and who could possibly be early favorites to wear black and blue in 2022. The conversation with Joe started with the QB Panthers GM […]

There are still 3 weeks left in the NFL regular season, but it is never too early to start about the 2022 NFL Draft, especially with the Panthers sitting at 5-9, with a lot of questions both on and off the field. NFL Draft writer for Yahoo Sports Eric Edholm released his latest mock draft yesterday, and he has the Panthers selecting Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett with the number seven pick. Pickett is coming off a career year, leading Pittsburgh to an ACC title, and an appearance in the Peach Bowl. Edholm joined Wilson & Norfleet earlier today, and when asked why he has the Panthers taking Pickett he replied: "He really did put it all together this year and did play at a much higher level. I feel like it was a perfect storm with his experience paying off. Being in that system in another year. There was just so much to like" It doesn't a rocket scientist to see after this season where the Panthers have started three different quarterbacks, that they need to find a franchise quarterback if Matt Rhule wants this thing to last in the NFL. There is still a long way to go before the NFL Draft commences, but Pickett is going to be a prospect to monitor closely leading up to the draft.
It's no secret that the Panthers have two major question marks personnel-wise moving forward that the team still has to address, the left tackle and the quarterback positions. Left tackle is a spot where Panther fans have grown frustrated by the fact that the team hasn't taken many risks and has tried to solve the position with band-aid instead of a long-term fix. The quarterback position is an area where the team has been more aggressive, but simply has swung and missed on the three quarterbacks that they have acquired since Matt Rhule's arrival two years ago.
The Host and Reporter for Pro-Football Focus Trevor Sikkema joined Kyle Bailey on Tuesday’s edition of the Clubhouse as he looked at what he makes of the Panthers current situation, and how they can fix it moving forward. The ball got rolling with Trevor looking at the Panthers process as he notes that when Rhule […]
Earlier today on Wilson & Norfleet, Gene Sapakoff from the Charleston Post & Courier joined for an insightful conversation around college football. Gene spoke on the chances that Wake Forest can still make the College Football Playoff, how Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Sweeney will rally the Clemson fan base, and explained why this past weekend's loss to Missouri was a typical South Carolina football loss. All of that conversation led to a question, about current North Carolina QB Sam Howell, who is a junior, participating in this weekend's Senior Day activities, suggesting that Howell will turn pro after the season concludes. When asked if that was the right decision for Howell, Sapakoff replied: " I think it is, and I'm guessing that Sam Howell and his pretty smart family have gotten some good advice on this from NFL people, agents, etc."
The Panthers 1st Round Draft Pick and newest corner Jaycee Horn dropped by the Clubhouse on Tuesday as he talked it up with Kyle Bailey on a multitude of topics just days after being drafted 8th overall. Jaycee first got into what he learned from his father in former Saints Pro-Bowl Wideout in Joe […]
The Carolina Panthers took a franchise record 11 players in last weekend's NFL Draft. Among those were two players with unconventional stories added to the roster as the newest rookies in the league. Out of the 259 picks, one player who wasn't expecting to hear his name called was Thomas Fletcher.
The Carolina Panthers filled an immediate need with their first selection of the 2021 NFL Draft, selecting former South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn with the eighth overall pick. Horn made significant strides during the offseason with his measurables at South Carolina’s pro day, surpassing both Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley and Alabama’s Patrick Surtain II as […]
