Charlotte Hornets

CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte Hornets overcame the third-biggest opening night deficit in the NBA’s last 25 years to win a 123-122 thriller over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, but the thing that left everyone talking happened afterward. LaMelo Ball, fresh off a 31-point performance as a catalyst in the comeback, wore a self-made suit which […]

The future is bright for Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball, coming up on his second year in the NBA. The 20-year-old is ‘rare’ as he describes himself. Ball’s rookie year he averaged 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds 6.1 assists. After fracturing his wrist mid-season, fans thought that was it for Ball’s first year in the league. […]

Hornets President of Basketball Operations and GM Mitch Kupchak joined the Clubhouse with Kyle Bailey as he previewed what will be a big offseason for the Hornets.

LaMelo Ball is going to be great. Write it down in ink, get tattoos and put all your money into his stock.  I knew that before he joined Stan Norfleet and I on Thursday after it was announced he had won the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

Ball averaged 15.7 points, 6.1 assists, 5.9 rebounds in 51 games to lead the Hornets into the NBA's play-in tournament. Despite dealing with a hand injury and missing 21 games he finished second in scoring among all rookies during the regular season.

Do you feel lucky, Hornets fans? Well…do ya? The NBA Draft Lottery is coming up on Tuesday, June 22nd and optimism for Charlotte Hornets basketball is surging.

Time is a flat circle.  That's how it feels to read a report by J. Michael of the Indianapolis Star that the Hornets have interest in acquiring Pacers Center Myles Turner this Summer.

"Sean Ryan (Panthers Quarterback Coach) even was asked about rebuilding Sam Darnold as if he was Anakin at the end of Episode 3, soon-to-be Darth Vader."

Hornets Center Bismack Biyombo joined Nick Wilson and Stan Norfleet on Friday to talk about his friendship with LaMelo Ball, when he knew the Hornets rookie was special and why the Hornets were blown out by Indiana in their NBA Play-In tournament appearance.

This upcoming offseason is a vital period of time for the rebuild of this franchise. This team obviously needs an overhaul in the frontcourt, but also needs to answer which parts are worth building around LaMelo Ball and which are expendable. General Manager Mitch Kupchak said repeatedly this season that they felt they were ahead of schedule, but this fanbase won't accept another season of stagnation.Â
