According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn has agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension, including $70 million guaranteed. The deal could reach a maximum value of $108 million with incentives.
At $25 million per year, Horn now holds the title of highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.
The 25-year-old Pro Bowler had a standout 2024 season, playing 15 games and recording 68 tackles, 13 pass defenses, and one interception. Originally drafted eighth overall by the Panthers in 2021, Horn has totaled 153 tackles, five interceptions, and 26 pass defenses over 37 career games.
This record-breaking deal cements Horn as a key piece of Carolina’s defense for years to come.
General manager Dan Morgan said as soon as last season ended that extending Horn was a priority.
“I think I said that to you guys the last time I talked to you guys, that Jaycee is obviously the focal point of the defense, somebody that we’re going to want here long-term, and, and we’re going to work on getting him a long-term deal,” Morgan said in January.
