Mac & Bone React to Hubert Davis Firing

Last night, Carolina Basketball made the decision to fire Huber Davis, after seasons on the UNC bench, compiling a 125-54 record, headlined by a run to the 2022 Final Four, and a regular-season ACC title back in 2024. But back-to-back exits in the first round of the NCAA Tournament caused a lack of confidence in Hubert moving forward, forcing UNC to fire one of the most beloved Tar Heels in recent memory. This means that arguably the best job in college basketball is open, and for the first time since 1953, a head coach will be hired without having previous ties or connections to the University.

That news was the major talking point on today’s Mac & Bone Show, as that topic dominated the first hour of the show.
