Scott Williams: It’s Time For a Change at UNC

Hubert Davis entered the 2025-26 season, needing a big year to solidify himself as the right man to lead the Carolina Basketball program for years to come. He appeared to be on his way to doing so, after leading UNC to a 12-1 start in the non-conference season, with big wins over Kansas and Kentucky. After Carolina took down Duke in February to improve to 18-4, all signs were pointing towards Carolina emerging as Final Four contender, but a season-ending injury to Caleb Wilson ruined those dreams, and UNC finished the season on a three-game losing streak. The season-ending loss was highlighted by blowing a 19-point lead to VCU, the largest blown lead in the history of the first round of the NCAA Tournament, firmly bringing into question his job security.
Earlier this morning on WFNZ, the guys were joined by former UNC Basketball player, and current ACC Network analyst, Scott Williams, joins the show as Scott tells you why he believes it’s time for a change in Chapel Hill regarding Hubert Davis’s job security, he tells stories from his time in the NBA with Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, and more.
You can listen to the Mac & Bone Show (Charlotte’s #1 morning show), every weekday morning from 6-10 AM on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ and the WFNZ app.
