For the first time since 1994, the Duke Blue Devils have started a football season 5-0 and it came in grand fashion as the Blue Devils overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat the rival Tar Heels 21-20 and retake the victory bell. Duke HC Manny Diaz joined Kyle Bailey to discuss what has stood out the most from Duke’s hot start to the season.
When asked about starting the year 5-0, Manny said the message to his team is that the standard is still the standard because it demands a level of preparation and performance which means you reset after each week, Manny noted how hard it is to be the same team week in and week out and that is what the best teams do.
Coach Diaz would also go on to break down the emergence of RB Star Thomas, and the challenges Georgia Tech brings this weekend.
