Charlotte Hornets v Atlanta Hawks

The last few months have been full of criticism for the Charlotte Hornets most recent all-star, LaMelo Ball.

For a second straight season, Ball played less than 40 games in a season, opening him up to questions about his drive to play and maturity. The questions were taken to a whole new level a month ago when he, along with the Hornets, was sued by a Charlotte mother who claims that he ran her son’s foot over and broke at last year’s ‘Purple and Teal Day’ in October.

On Tuesday, Cedric ‘Cornbread’ Maxwell, the radio analyst for the world champion Boston Celtics joined the Kyle Bailey Show and pointed to Ball’s maturity as something that will be a key to Charles Lee having success. “Ball is going to have to be more engaged, more committed making his teammates better. I mean, he is showy. He’s flashy. At the end of the day, can you win with him? And that’s going to be a big question that you’re going to have. You’re commit to him financially, but how can Charles help him develop into the player to be a facilitator and help those guys step forward?
