Welcome Charlotte FC fans for another exciting year of MLS Soccer here in the Queen City. While the excitement and anticipation continue to grow for the home opener on February 24 when we will host the men from NYCFC.

It’s worth noting that quite a bit has happened since October 25, 2023, when our season ended to the New York Red Bulls 5-2. Year three is sure to be the best one yet! “The Bank” will be rocking, the supporters will be chanting, and the players will be racking up the wins!

Here is a recap of what you may have missed:

  • The Club parted ways with Head Coach Christian Lattanzio
  • THE Club appointed Dean Smith as the new Head Coach (Smith is best known for leading Aston Villa back to the Premier League in 2019)
  • Charlotte FC Launches a New Primary Kit
  • Charlotte FC loaned star forward Karol Swiderski to Hellas Verona (Serie A)
  • Charlotte FC transferred fellow Polish international Kamil Jozwiak to Granada (LaLiga).
  • The Club exercised the options of Patrick Agyemang, Ben Bender, Hamady Diop, George Marks, Andrew Privett and Nick Scardina
  • The Club declined the options on: Harrison Afful, McKinze Gaines, Chris Hegardt, Pablo Sisniega, Jan Sobocinski and Adrian Zendejas.
  • Brandon Cambridge underwent successful surgery earlier this week to fix an ankle fracture.
  • Charlotte FC acquired Djibril Diani from French Club SM Caen (Pending receipt of Diani’s ITC)

  • The crown is now unbeaten in preseason play.
  • Up to Two additional DPs (Designated Players) will be added.
  • Former Brentford Forward Tariq Fosu and former Orlando City midfielder Junior Urso playing as trialists.
  • Joao Pedro and Chituru Odunze have been promoted from Crown Legacy
  • Rumors of possible Promotions of Iuri Tavares and Nikola Petkovic from Crown Legacy
  • Nimfasha Berchimas (The 15-Year-old) is trying to build off his excellent play at the u17 World Cup. He recently started for the Crown in the last preseason match.
