Indianapolis Colts v Carolina Panthers

After a week of excitement and hope, the Panthers’ 2023 season returned to the regularly scheduled misery on Sunday.

Against one of the best statistical offenses that they had faced so far this year, the defense showed out, holding the Colts offense to just 13 points and 198 total yards.

In the end, it wasn’t enough, though, because of the two pick-sixes tossed by rookie quarterback Bryce Young that were the difference on the scoreboard in the 27-13 loss.

On Monday, longtime voice of the Panthers, Jim Szoke, stopped by with the Mac & Bone Show and said this is just part of the process with a rookie quarterback.

“A week ago, we’re sitting here talking about how he outplays C.J. Stroud in that game on the same field. This is the NFL. A week later, completely different thing. So you hope Thursday is a completely different thing back the positive way. These are the growing pains, the facts of life.”
