Play-by-Play announcer and former quarterback for South Carolina, Todd Ellis joins Mac & Bone to preview the upcoming Gamecock football season.

He is very high on Spencer Rattler saying that he has the ability to make any throw needed. Todd Ellis said he made strides in his game as he stopped forcing throws into tight windows and limited the turnovers. He expects Spencer Rattler to come back with the calm cool and collected demeanor that he started to evolve late into the season. The only concern he has for Rattler this season is his ability to adapt quickly to a new offensive coordinator.

One of Todd Ellis’s favorite players on the team is making a return, Antwane “Juice” Wells. His teammates love him and the star WR is a huge piece of the offense. Todd believes that Wells has a chance to be an All-American player this season.

With recruiting being such a vital part of the college football formula to success Todd gives a lot of credit to Shane Beamer for his efforts to recruit South Carolina talent as well as looking for great players all across the country. He mentions that South Carolina is a hard sell for some people with the rural nature of the state, but credits Beamer for his endless energy, charisma, and love for the game and thinks that he will continue to do great things for Gamecock Football.

The final thing discussed is the potential impact of five-star recruit Nyck Harbor and what he can bring to the team. Todd thinks that it will take the player a few games to adjust to the college level but he has no doubt that he will make an impact in his Freshman year. He is an athletic freak and thinks he can be a weapon as a wide receiver, tight end, or even defensive end.
