Pete Gillen: The Tar Heels Won The Lottery With Michael Malone
Earlier this week, the Carolina Tar Heels announced that former Denver Nuggets HC Michael Malone will be the next HC of the Carolina Tar Heels. Before he was an NBA Champion, Coach Malone worked under Pete Gillen at Providence, as the former Friars and Virginia HC joined Kyle Bailey to discuss the hire.
When it came to Michael Malone at Providence, Pete noted how well he connected with the players, as that is what he loved the most about Coach Malone, along with his drive, as he thinks the Tar Heels hit the lottery with this hire.
Pete would go on to break down if he’s shocked Michael is going back to college instead of staying in the NBA, and what he made of Michigan’s National Title win.
