Tim Pernetti Recaps The “Saving College Sports” Roundtable
Over the past few years, one of the biggest problems in the college athletic landscape has been trying to find a way to grasp NIL and regulate it instead of the chaos that it currently can be. Commissioner of the American Conference, Tim Pernetti, joined Kyle Bailey to discuss what happened in our nation’s capital this past Friday.
Overall, Tim thought that Friday was a great discussion, and Tim believed this reinforces the importance of what people do in college athletics. Tim also discussed how he likes some aspects of the SCORE Act, from needing a federal standard in NIL, and Tim pointed to a discussion on the future of NIL Collectives, and if they need to end in the near future.
Tim would also go on to discuss how Congress will likely have an impact on change in college athletics, and Tim gave his reaction to Charlotte’s new AD in Kevin White.
