On Tuesday, the Carolina Panthers announced that they had signed veteran long snapper JJ Jansen to another one-year deal for the 2026 season, making it his 18th season in Carolina, and his 19th overall season in the NFL. Jansen has become a fan favorite over his time with the Panthers, but has also emerged as a leader on and off the field for the team, while developing close relationships with franchise legends, like Greg Olsen, and newly named Hall of Famer, Luke Kuechly. When doing an interview on WFNZ earlier this month, Jansen made it known his desire to play again next season, after the Panthers won their first division title since 2015, and played in their first playoff game since 2017. This deal achieves that mission, as the team will look to build off the success of 2025 in 2026.

Earlier this morning, Jansen appeared on the Mac & Bone Show, as JJ talks about resigning with the Panthers, ahead of his 19th NFL season, he talks about how he’s seen the game change during his time in the league, he offers his thoughts on the tanking epidemic in the NBA, and more.

You can listen to the Mac & Bone Show (Charlotte’s #1 morning show) every weekday morning from 6-10 AM, on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ, and the WFNZ app.
