Hornets to Retire Dell Curry’s No. 30 Jersey on March 19

The Charlotte Hornets will retire Dell Curry’s No. 30 jersey on March 19 during their home game against the Orlando Magic, the team announced.
Curry, the franchise’s 1994 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, ranks second in Hornets history with 9,839 career points. He spent 10 of his 16 NBA seasons in Charlotte from 1988 to 1998 and has remained closely tied to the organization ever since.
Now in his 17th season as the team’s television analyst, Curry has spent a total of 27 years with the Hornets as a player, broadcaster, and current team ambassador. Also the father of NBA stars Stephen and Seth Curry.
Hornets owners Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin said retiring Curry’s jersey reflects the organization’s commitment to honoring its history. Curry will become just the second Hornets player to have his jersey retired, joining the late Bobby Phills (No. 13).
