Manny Diaz Previews The ACC Championship Game For Duke
Saturday marks the 2025 edition of the ACC Championship game with the Virginia Cavaliers taking on the Duke Blue Devils after a year full of chaos in the conference. Duke HC Manny Diaz joined Kyle Bailey to discuss what it would mean for Duke to win the ACC in football for the first time since 1989.
Much has been made about whether or not Duke should be in the playoff if they win the ACC title on Saturday, as, despite having a 7-5 record, Manny Diaz pointed out to Kyle that Virginia will be the 10th bowl-eligible opponent they’ve had, and not one other team has played that many games against bowl-eligible teams, and if they beat Virginia, that will be a quality win that are better than any of the other Group of 5 conferences can match with, and he noted going 6-2 in the ACC shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Manny would go on to discuss the continued importance of conference championship games, and what they need to improve upon the most as opposed to the last time they faced Virginia.
